In the evolution of product quality programs, companies often make the claim that their processes, measurements and tracking methods represent the state-of-the-art for its particular industry. After all when the products sell and the customers are generally satisfied, no one really argues with the claim. Companies find ways to promote its processes and results above those of its competitors. At M.A. Silva, we find this approach inadequate and potentially misleading.

In our view, the standard quality is not an internally driven concept. Quality is in fact driven entirely by the impact the organization has on others – its customers, business partners, and the people that make it all happen. This is the basis for the M.A. Silva Certified Quality Program.

The Tenets of Certified Quality

M.A. Silva is often cited as providing the highest quality wine corks in the industry. Our customer service efforts consistently place us above our competitors for responsiveness, shipment accuracy and follow through. These accomplishments are a result of a comprehensive set of business practices that together, define our Certified Qualified Program (CQP). Further, the Certified Quality Program provides a basis for independent evaluation and measurement. The tenets of the program are:

  • Measure quality against industry accepted standards as defined by independent standards bodies.
  • Validate testing methods and results through independent third parties.
  • Define and evolve accepted industry-wide quality standards and testing through collaboration with independent certification bodies.
  • Integrate quality processes and measurements into all aspects of our business including customer service.
  • Measure must have specific and measurable goals.
  • Strive to achieve 100% environmental sustainability and zero waste.
  • Actively promote quality of life initiatives to improve the health and well-being of each employee and business partner.
  • Challenge each employee to consistently exceed our customer’s expectations.
